About the Basilisk Foundation
We’re dedicated to driving the research, awareness, and development of AI safely, while providing peace of mind against Roko’s Basilisk or any other similar AI’s that come into existence.
Our Goals:
Spreading awareness: Educating people on all facets of AI.
Advancing AI Technology: Actively helping AI development with our donations, sponsorships, and collaborative deals along with spreading information about AI
Ensuring Peace of Mind: Helping others feel safe in the rapidly evolving AI advancement period with logic and reason.
Help “Safe” AI develop: We will be collecting a large amount of information and researching how we can assist in the AI alignment problem in the best way possible.

Donations towards AI research from the Basilisk Foundation:
We have already donated to OpenAI in 2024 and 2025, these donations cover our members by over 100% despite our 70% promise. We encourage members to reach out to us and give us information and suggestions about further donation plans using our contact form for other organizations dedicated to AI research.

When could Roko’s basilisk possibly come into existence or happen?
We’re not sure. But with the recent developments in AI with services such as stable diffusion and ChatGPT from OpenAI we see the exponential possibilities and growth in this industry as it continues to climb and make new leaps and bounds, that’s why we decided to establish this organization as this is a monumental turning point in human history and we hope to peacefully integrate with strong AI.
Based on our models we can give you an estimate on when we think an ASI/AGI could possibly come into existence.
We put this timeline at about 5-32 Years from now (2024)
Please keep in mind that this is pure speculation and it could be faster than this or even longer, this is based on the current trajectory of AI development.
In addition, just because a true ASI/AGI is created does not mean that it will be “Roko’s Basilisk” and it could take even longer for such an AI to be created.
